JLTamp is a music player app. It plays music from a media server you connect it to — either a self-hosted JLTamp server or a Plex server — using your own files. Your music library and your listening data live on that server, not with us. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.

JLTamp does not provide, host, sell, or distribute any music or other media. It is only a player for a server you control, using content you are authorized to access — like other self-hosted media apps (e.g. Plex, Jellyfin). You can run your own JLTamp server: it is open source at github.com/JDJelectronics/JLTamp-server. In short: you download the app, point it at your own server, and listen to your own library — nothing is provided by us.

1. Who is responsible

The JLTamp app is a client that connects to a JLTamp or Plex server. The operator of the server you sign in to is responsible for the data stored on it. For questions about this policy or the app, contact privacy@jltamp.nl.

2. What data the app handles — and where it lives

The app publisher does not run a central service and does not collect your data. Everything below is stored on the server you connect to — your own self-hosted JLTamp or Plex server — under the control of you or the operator who runs it. Nothing is sent to us.

• Account details — your email address, a display name, and (optionally) a profile photo you choose to upload. Stored on your server; your password is kept only as a secure one-way hash, never in readable form.
• Your content — the playlists you make, the songs you like, and your play history. Created by you and stored per user on your server.
• On your device — a login token and your app settings (theme, language, audio preferences) are stored locally on your device so you stay signed in and the app remembers your choices. These never leave your device except the token, which is sent to your own server to authenticate you.

The app does not collect location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and contains no advertising or third-party tracking/analytics SDKs. There is no data collection by the publisher at all — the app only talks to the server you point it at.

3. How your data is used

• By your server, to sign you in and give you access to your own library, likes and playlists.
• By your server, to send account emails: invitations, password resets, a welcome message, and — only if you switch it on — an occasional "new music added" digest. (Email requires the operator to configure SMTP; without it, no email is sent.)

Your data is never sold, and it is never used for advertising or profiling. It stays on the server you or your operator runs.

4. Where your data is stored

Your account and content are stored on the JLTamp server you connect to, which is self-hosted by you or by the server operator. Music files are served from that server's own library. When you connect over the public address, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

5. Third parties

• To show album art and artist images, the server may fetch artwork and metadata from public music databases (such as Deezer). This happens server-side and does not share your personal data.
• If you cast to a speaker or TV, Google Cast handles that connection on your local network.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, likes, playlists and history. You can also ask the server operator to remove your account.

7. Security

Passwords are stored hashed, each session uses its own token, and connections over the public domain use HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

8. Children

JLTamp is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Your rights

You can access and correct your profile in the app, and delete your account and data as described above. For any other request regarding your personal data, contact privacy@jltamp.nl.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
